Resolution of the EPA City Council to honor the memory of Gerald Nugent and his commitment to "a life of incorruptible integrity characterized by active commitment to and patient persistence in the struggle to end racial injustice towards African-Americans and other minorities. Nugent faced discrimination while serving in the Army during WWII, served as the business manager of Nairobi College, was a member of EPACCI and fought for the incorporation of EPA, was a member of EPA Council of Tenants (EPACT), was the accountant for the Shule Mandela Academy, and was highly regarded by members of the EPA community.
