Editorial opinion from the San Jose Mercury News staff about measures in EPA during the upcoming election. Measure I would allocate 10% of the Four Seasons hotel tax (about $200,00/year) to children and family services; Measure J would set aside the same amount for affordable housing. Measure H would ratify the utility user tax (about $1 million/year) that was passed by the EPA City Council in 1989.
