Photographs, programs, and organizational artifacts donated by and related to Raices de Mexico, a Mexican folkloric dance troupe based in East Palo Alto. Raices de Mexico offered dance classes and shared the culture of Mexico at performances throughout the Bay Area.
Raices de Mexico was founded by East Palo Alto resident Ruben Avelar as a way to celebrate and educate the community about the diversity of Mexico through regional dances. Raices de Mexico hosted their own recitals and performed at schools and events all over East Palo Alto and California.
