Barbara Mouton Collection
User Collection PublicArtifacts compiled by Barbara Mouton throughout her time as East Palo Alto's Mayor and City Councilmember. Maisha Mouton was instrumental in preserving the artifacts for her mother. Her collection focuses on the battle for the city's incorporation, civil rights, city history, and affordable housing.
Barbara Mouton was the first Mayor of newly incorporated East Palo Alto. A Bay Area native, Mrs. Mouton moved to East Palo Alto after attending Stanford University and devoted her life to fighting for affordable housing, civil rights, youth development, and senior services.
